Our Mission

The Slavic Heritage Coalition’s mission is to unite, support and promote the importance of Slavic culture, traditions and awareness of Slavic history in North America by:

• Providing a forum for information exchange and the sharing of Slavic heritage, culture and traditions.

• Promoting the interests of Slavic-American communities in the economic, political and cultural life of North America.

• Bringing attention to the existence of the rich multi-Slavic ethnic segment of the North American population.

• Educating North Americans about the contributions of Slavic-Americans to American institutions and cultural life.

• Promoting studies and publications on Slavic immigration to North American and the contribution of these immigrants and their descendants to every aspect of North-American life.

• Working with all existing and future Slavic associations to advance the interests of Slavic peoples on the local, national and international level.

• Promoting the survival of Slavic languages and the existence of Slavic departments within US academic institutions, which are drastically in decline and replaced by Latino and Asian language programs.
